Candidate Agreement & Code of Conduct

Who this applies to

This agreement applies to every person who starts an AIPA certification exam. You accept it on the exam page before your attempt begins; the version you accepted is recorded against your attempt. If you do not accept it, you cannot start the exam and your exam access stays unused and refundable.

Identity

You confirm that you are the person named on the account, that the identity document you submitted is your own and genuine, and that you will sit the exam yourself. Sitting an exam for someone else, or letting someone sit it for you, is the most serious breach of this agreement.

You will not hold more than one AIPA account, or use a different name to get around a retake limit or a sanction.

Confidentiality of exam content

AIPA exam questions, answer options, scenarios, artefacts and scoring are confidential and protected by copyright. You will not copy, photograph, record, memorise for the purpose of sharing, transcribe, discuss, post, sell or otherwise disclose any of it — during the exam or afterwards, in any form, including in private study groups, forums, 'brain-dump' sites, social media or AI tools.

This duty continues after the exam, whether you passed or not. If you come across AIPA exam content being shared, you agree to report it (see Report an integrity concern).

During the exam

You will follow the Exam Rules & Online Proctoring policy. In particular you will work alone, in a private room, with your camera and screen shared for the whole attempt, and without notes, other people, phones, other devices or other software.

You will not use any artificial-intelligence product or service to help you during the exam — including chat assistants, coding assistants, browser extensions, AI features built into your operating system, translation tools, or AI-enabled glasses, earbuds or other wearables.

You will not try to view the exam's source, intercept or alter its traffic, extract its answer keys, or otherwise tamper with the exam or the platform.

Monitoring and data forensics

You consent to your camera, microphone and screen being recorded and to integrity events (such as leaving full screen, pasting, or a second display) being logged during your attempt. You also agree that AIPA may analyse response patterns across candidates and forms to detect copying, item exposure and other irregularities, before and after a result is issued.

No candidate is failed, voided or sanctioned by software alone. Every flagged attempt is reviewed by a person before any decision is made.

If you breach this agreement

Depending on the seriousness of the breach, AIPA may: issue a warning; void the attempt without refund; withhold or cancel a result; suspend or revoke any AIPA credential you hold, including one issued before the breach came to light; and bar you from future AIPA exams for a fixed period or permanently. Organised cheating or the theft or sale of exam content may also be referred for legal action.

A revocation for misconduct is shown on your public verification record. You will be told the decision and the reasons in writing, and you may appeal it (see Appeals & Complaints).

Truthful representation

You will describe any AIPA credential you hold accurately — its exact name, level and dates — and stop using it if it expires, is suspended or is revoked (see Credential & Mark Use).
